Terms of Service
Last updated:
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of Gamebrary at gamebrary.com and app.gamebrary.com (“Gamebrary”). Gamebrary is operated by Dugout Master LLC, a limited liability company in Arizona, United States (“we”, “us”). By accessing or using Gamebrary you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and all applicable laws and regulations, and you are responsible for complying with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree, do not use Gamebrary.
2. Your account
- You can sign in with an email address and password or with Google. Keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Provide accurate information and don’t create accounts to impersonate others, evade a suspension or abuse the service.
3. Your content
“Your content” is what you add to Gamebrary: your library, progress and ratings, tags, notes, boards, play sessions, speedrun times and uploaded wallpapers.
- You keep ownership of your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process and display it only as needed to run Gamebrary for you — for example to generate image thumbnails or to show a board you made public.
- Content is private by default. A board set to public or unlisted can be seen by anyone (unlisted boards by anyone with the link), and public boards can be copied by other users into their own account.
- Only upload content you have the right to use. Don’t post content that is illegal, infringes someone else’s rights, harasses or threatens others, is sexually explicit, or contains malware or spam.
- You can report a public board that breaks these terms in the app or by email to contact@gamebrary.com. We review reports and may hide or remove content, or suspend accounts, that break these terms.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to Gamebrary or other users’ data; don’t scrape it or call its backend outside the app at volume; don’t bypass rate limits or security measures (including App Check / reCAPTCHA); and don’t use Gamebrary for any unlawful purpose.
5. Steam account linking
- You can optionally link a Steam account. Linking uses Steam’s own sign-in (Steam OpenID): you sign in on steamcommunity.com and Steam tells us your public SteamID. We never see your Steam password.
- Once linked, Gamebrary reads your Steam profile name, avatar and owned games with their playtime through the Steam Web API, adds those games to your library and keeps their playtime up to date. This only works while your Steam game details are visible to Gamebrary under your Steam privacy settings.
- You can unlink Steam at any time from the Steam page in the Gamebrary app. Games already imported stay in your library until you remove them.
- Gamebrary is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve Corporation. Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Your use of Steam remains subject to Steam’s own terms.
6. Third-party data
Game information shown on Gamebrary comes from third parties and belongs to them: game metadata and images from IGDB (a Twitch service), store details, news and achievements from Steam, store details from GOG, descriptions from Wikipedia (available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence) and speedrun leaderboards from speedrun.com. Game names, artwork and trademarks belong to their respective owners. We don’t guarantee that third-party data is accurate, complete or current, and we link to the original source where we can.
7. Exporting and deleting your data
- You can download a copy of your data from Settings in the Gamebrary app.
- You can delete your account from Settings in the Gamebrary app. Deletion runs on our servers and permanently removes your account and everything you own on Gamebrary — library, tags, notes, boards, wallpapers, Steam link and settings. It cannot be undone. For your security you must have signed in recently to delete your account.
- Copies other users made of your public boards belong to them and are not deleted with your account.
8. Gamebrary Plus: purchases, renewals and refunds
- What you can buy. Gamebrary is free to use. Gamebrary Plus is an optional paid tier available as a yearly subscription ($19.99 per year), as a one-time Lifetime purchase ($59.99) or as a gift (a prepaid year, or Lifetime). Prices are in US dollars; applicable sales tax or VAT is added at checkout where required.
- Merchant of record. Purchases are processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd and its affiliates), which sells Gamebrary Plus to you as merchant of record, handles payment, tax and invoices, and whose buyer terms also apply. We never see or store your card details.
- Yearly subscription. The yearly plan renews automatically every 12 months at the then-current price until you cancel. Cancel any time from Settings in the Gamebrary app (Manage billing); you keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for and are not charged again.
- Lifetime. “Lifetime” means the lifetime of the Gamebrary service, not of the purchaser. If we discontinue Gamebrary, the Lifetime purchase ends with it and we will give reasonable notice (section 9).
- Gifts. A gift is a code the buyer passes on. A gifted year grants 12 months of Plus from the day it is redeemed and never renews; afterwards the recipient’s account returns to Free with everything kept. Codes are single-use, cannot be exchanged for cash and are void if the purchase is refunded before redemption.
- Refunds. If Plus is not for you, email contact@gamebrary.com within 14 days of a first purchase or a renewal and we will refund it in full; a refund ends the access it paid for. Later requests are considered case by case, for example if a feature you paid for stopped working. Statutory rights in your country are not affected.
- Changes. We may change what Plus includes and its price. A price change applies to your subscription only from the next renewal, and we will tell you before it.
9. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Gamebrary at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to accounts that break these terms or that put the service or other users at risk, and we may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue Gamebrary we will try to give reasonable notice so you can export your data.
10. Disclaimer
Gamebrary is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that data will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything important.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Gamebrary and its operators and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of or inability to use Gamebrary, even if advised of the possibility of such damage. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
12. Links
Gamebrary links to sites we don’t operate (stores, publishers, video sites and others). We are not responsible for their content or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed; for significant changes we will give notice in the app. By continuing to use Gamebrary after a change you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that State.
